The latest part of our Eramsus+ project took place from 7th – 11th November when Mr Waites and Emma Straker attended a week of training activities in Izmir, Turkey.

This project is focused on supporting students with autism through video models and picture instructions. It involves staff from the six participating countries visiting each school to learn about different ways they work and share ideas. We are working with staff from schools in Slovakia, Croatia, Romania, Poland and Turkey.

The week’s activities included a ceramics workshop, presentations from each school about working with local businesses, visits to employers where young people with additional needs were working and a tour of the ancient city of Ephesus.

The project concludes at the end of the academic year and the last learning exchange trip will be in May 2017, with a 3 day meeting in Romania.
