Fair-trade 2017 saw Catcote Academy working alongside Hartlepool Town Fair-trade Steering Group to launch several town wide events. They included Mr Currell abseiling from the Transporter Bridge to raise awareness, a very brave man! The Academy hosted a Fair-trade Biscuit baking competition and had over 30 entries for the ‘Bake a Fair break biscuit’ competition. There were lots of applicants from the Academy along with other schools in Hartlepool. All were invited to bake a biscuit using Fair-trade ingredients. The wining biscuit was a rocky road from Link 3 and was chosen because of its great taste and use of Fair-trade ingredients. Catcote Academies CF7 took second place. The other challenge invited people to take part in a competition to take a Fair-trade selfie. The Hartlepool Mayor picked the winners at the Academy’s coffee morning. It was a fantastic event and enjoyed by all.
