Students at Catcote Academy have a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities, as well as lots of strengths and abilities.  All students have an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan.

The SEND Code of Practice 2015 provides guidance to schools on how to implement the law.  It groups needs in different areas:

  • Communicating and interacting
  • Cognition and learning
  • Social, emotional and mental health difficulties
  • Sensory and/or physical needs

We have an Admissions Policy which sets out the different kinds of needs that we can meet at the Academy.  This includes students with learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, communication needs and social and emotional difficulties.

You can read more about our Admissions process here.
