Key Stage 4 Health and Social Care students visited Prestige Care Merlin Manor Care Home, where they received a warm welcome from Michelle and Julie, the home’s fantastic activities coordinators.
The care home had a lovely, homely feel, and it was clear just how happy and well-cared-for the residents were. The students were introduced to several residents and staff, gaining valuable insight into the day-to-day running of the home.
One highlight of the visit was when James had the pleasure of meeting Matty, a former Coldstream Guard who served in World War II. Matty proudly shared his story, showed James his medals, and even let him try on his hat — a moment James won’t forget!
The visit offered students an inspiring look at the care sector and the rewarding relationships built within it.
