The Internship programme is for young people aged 16-24 with a Learning Difficulty Assessment or Education, Health and Care plan. They provide a personalised and flexible study programme tailored to meet individual needs and increase the chance of sustaining paid employment upon completion of the programme.
The programme links up with employers to give students with Special Educational Needs the chance to prepare for full-time employment.
The students will be based in ‘The Catcote Metro’ retail outlet upstairs in the training room, which is based in Middleton Grange Shopping Centre. They will be taught for up to1 day per week studying specific vocational qualifications in the area of work they have chosen to train.
They will also have the opportunity to access up to 4 days per week in specific work placements supported with experienced Job Coaches where appropriate.
The Internship is a 12 month programme
