RomaniaThe ‘My Work is My Future’ Erasmus project is due to end in August. We have been working with schools in 5 countries across Europe for the last two years and the final school visit took place in May, with Mrs Wharton, Mrs Straker and Mr Waites travelling to Lugoj in Romania.

This project is focused on supporting students with autism and learning disabilities to learn new skills using video modelling and picture instructions. Besides Catcote, there are schools from Slovakia, Croatia, Turkey, Romania and Poland.

During the 3 day meeting we enjoyed a tour of the host school, a visit to a centre for children with Autism and looking at therapy using horses.

Our staff have learned a lot from the other teachers and schools involved in this project and we hope to be able to maintain the excellent links we have established with European schools.
