Wiggleton Grange Bug hotel Project

Wiggleton Grange Bug hotel Project – Middleton Grange Shopping Centre and the Hartlepool College of Futher education

Over the past couple of weeks our KS4 Creative Arts and Forest school work related learning groups have been designing and making a bug hotel to be placed outside of the Middleton Grange Shopping Centre. Students were given a live brief to follow, they have implemented and adapted creative ideas throughout the project to complete their vision. We would like to say a big thank you to Ben Glaister-Smith and the staff Hartlepool College of further Education for working with us last term, our students have enjoyed making new friends and learning new skills. The bug hotel will be sited soon to promote bio diversity benefit lots of different types of minibeast and insects such as ladybirds, bees, spiders and woodlice. Minibeasts can then use the bug hotel as a safe space to shelter, lay their eggs, raise their young, and seek refuge from predators.
