Literacy
  • Evidence for Learning software to collate evidence and monitor progress for Blue and Yellow pathway students
  • Phonics books and schemes

  • A residential/day trip based around a book students have studied

Impact:

Y7 students in Red Pathway  have made at least good progress.  In Reading, Spoken Language and all strands in Maths they have made better progress  than students in other year groups.

Y7 students in Yellow and Blue pathway have at least met teacher expectations.  50% of these students exceeded expectations.

Intentions for 2019-20

  • Purchase further phonic resources including reading apps.
  • Access Makaton language programme training training to supports students to communicate.
  • Elklan training to support staff further in their support of students with speech, language and communication needs.
  • Buy in services from LA early years practitioner in English and Maths to support teachers in their teaching of early Maths and English
Maths
  • Continue to purchase Numicon and concrete resources to support the KS3 maths scheme of work for number and measure.
  • Continue to purchase Mangahigh to support Red pathway users with all strands of the Maths curriculum.
  • Buy in services from LA early years practitioner in English and Maths to support teachers in their teaching of early Maths and English
