Summary of PPG spending 

Objectives in spending PPG:

Raising attainment and achievement of students to at least expected progress through:

  • Raising literacy and numeracy levels
  • Providing social and emotional support and interventions to improve attendance, behaviour and social emotional well being.
  • Work with individual students and their families to reduce the number of persistent absentees.
  • Enhanced/improved opportunities to access trips, residentials, extra-curricular activities including after school clubs and activity days
  • Improve skills for day to day activities through access to regular OT.
Summary of spending and actions taken:
Numeracy 
  • Investment in kinaesthetic and visual maths resources
Literacy 
  • Investment in new reading books
  • Investment in new reading programme
  • Access to trips including theatre trips
Family Liaison
  • A dedicated Student Family Support Assistant targets persistent absentees, and hard to reach families
Behaviour for Learning
  • Behaviour for Learning Coordinator to enable a more detailed analysis of the behaviour of students and produce behaviour plans and whole school systems using new online system.
  • School reward system is designed to motivate students by recognising pupils achievementsInvestment in Thrive training to enable children to become more self-assured and ready to engage with life and learning.

Vocational Skills

  • Appointment of CIAG/Job Coach to support students in their preparation for adulthood and provide work placement opportunities
  • Employ a Teaching Assistant to support students during internships and work placements

Residential trips and educational visits:

  • Trips include Carlton Camp, Calvert Trust, Flamingo land, Faramir Sailing, Blackpool, London and the Lake District

Breakfast

  • To provide the opportunity for all students to have toast, fruit, milk or fruit juice on arrival each morning.

After school and holiday clubs, activity days

  • After school activities take place one night per week with a variety of activities on offer

Therapy

  • Access to an occupational therapist
