Santas Grotto

Middleton Grange Shopping Centre

Staff and student’s from Catcote Academy have absolutely loved helping out in Santa’s Grotto this year!  We were asked to ‘elf’ out by @markrycraft, Middleton Grange Shopping Centre Manager and we were all keen to assist!

Student’s  and staff donned their Elf outfits over a four week period, (Monday’s, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday’s) to help Santa to distribute gifts to the children of Hartlepool.

The students gained so many skills throughout this project including handling cash, communication skills and working as a team!   They also made enterprise gifts which were sold outside the grotto throughout the project!

A grand total of £1650.00 has been raised, the funds will be split across a number of charitable organisations: £250.00 will be given to Great North Air Ambulance, £250.00 to the Girls West Rugby Club, £650.00 to Catcote Academy for resources and activities to further develop our students enterprise skills and finally £500.00 to Wharton Trust to help out with their Christmas food parcel’s for families who are struggling throughout the cost of living crisis!

Huge thanks to all that have taken part and also the members of the public who have supported us throughout this project!

Its been such a wonderful experience!
