KS4 and KS5 creative arts students had the opportunity over the week to work with artist Adele Catchpole, commission by Bloomin Art, to create octopus lanterns ahead of the Wintertide Festival event. The octopus lanterns constructed by students will be carried as part of the opening parade prior to the light switch on for the evening event. Our students will have the opportunity to work with performing artists, musicians and inspire inclusion throughout the light festival. KS4 and KS5 students constructed the skelton bases using willow and paper mache combined techniques, they applied colour and light to their final pieces. We are very excited to be part of the ‘Fire and Fin’ Wintertide event at the Headland, taking place on 24th November 2023.
