Challenge Week

This term Catcote Academy, Sixth Form and Futures took part in a whole trust Challenge Week. This is the first time this event has ran and was a huge success. The aim of the challenge week was to stretch and challenge students, try something new and raise money for two wonderful causes:

Outdoor Learning and Fitness Zone:

We plan to build an amazing outdoor area, specifically designed with our students in mind, to allow all students the opportunity to explore nature, learn through play and try new things. This amazing project will be the first of its kind in Hartlepool and will be an amazing resource for both the Academy and community. It will cost around £450,000 to build, we have already sought funding for £200,000 and hope to start building the first phase in the Autumn.

Miles for Men:

Miles for Menis a North-East charity, based in Hartlepool, dedicated to raising funds for those affected by cancer both within the local community and nationally. To date the charity has raised in excess of £269,000, with £127,000sent to Cancer Research UK and over £15,000 to Hartlepool Hospice, due to the overwhelming support of the charity around the country.

To date students at Catcote Academy and Sixth Form have raised a huge £1150 and Catcote Futures will raise this total even more!

We would like to thank all of the students, parents and friends for their support during this event and look forward to starting the building of the Outdoor Learning and Fitness Zone.
