Our Key stage 5 Creative Arts work related learning group, have had the opportunity to be part of a live brief to redesign and upcycle furniture for the new Catcote Academy Thrive room. They have started to upcycle chairs which were donated to the school and correlate a range of ideas. The group is collaborating as a creative team to develop illustrations, visualising through mood boards, sketching design plans, client goals and budget for materials. They have adapted individual ideas each week during lessons, developing their surface design and furniture preparation skills. Our creative students have explored image sizing by adapting their illustrative drawings using projectors to bring their vision to life. The project is ongoing, we are excited to see the finished outcome in the weeks to come.
