Black History Month

“October in the UK is Black History Month. This national celebration aims to promote and celebrate Black people’s contributions to British society, and to foster an understanding of Black history.

To celebrate, this year, students were challenged to research important figures in Black history and culture, enjoy the Pixar movie Soul, a film about a Black Jazz musician, and to decorate their classroom doors to mark the occasion.

The students have done excellently as you can see from some of our classroom doors. The best door this year was made by Link 1 who had an amazing tribute to Black music featuring interactive sound buttons playing music. Well done to Link 1 and to all students who took part!”
